Flatter Yourself!
Buy clothes that fit you. Whether you are a size 2 or a size 22, if you wear the wrong size clothes, you’ll end up looking bigger than you are, or worse yet, shapeless. Wearing clothes that are too tight leads to bulges and lumps, just as choosing clothes which are too large adds to your size and makes you look bigger.
Choose items which skim over areas you want to disguise. For instance, if you want to make your tummy look flatter, move away from skin tight tops, and choose a flattering empire waisted shirt. Pick skirts that drape and don’t cling. Wear interesting jewelry which the brings the eye up and away from areas that you don’t want people to focus on.
Let the clothes do the work. Buy pieces that are structured to give you shape. Jackets that are nipped in at the waist help define and smooth. They can diminish a larger chest and arms, and create a perfect hourglass figure. The details that form the jacket into a pleasing shape will do the same for your figure. Select a V-neck blouse to diminish a larger chest or broad shoulders. Wearing slim sleeves on coats, blouses, tee shirts etc, take pounds off.
Buy clothing to fit the widest part of your body. This helps to avoid unattractive stretching or puckering, and any parts of the piece that is too big can be altered.
